Some Web Design Principles

When designing a website, do it such a way so that any user would not get stuck in the middle of the website without any directions to get out of there. Let everything about the website be crystal clear. Make communication on the website be as clear as possible. Make the navigational text as interactive as possible.
The best thing would be to make the navigation intuitive. Intuitive navigation also requires a programming fix. When the user is at a particular page, the web page should have context-sensitive links to related information.
Don’t make text navigational links be ambiguous in description. Although a bit of mystery is desirable, it does not make sense in the long run. Don’t make the user ask many questions in their mind when visiting the website.
Users might not wait. Users generally are spoilt for choices. They might lose patience and just leave. User interest in a website depends on a lot of factors. Information design, graphic design, and website usability design. These three have to work in tandem to make it a greatly looking and feeling website.
Make user’s do less to get more. This is the ideal thing to do to get users to appreciate the quality of the website and belong there more.
Website designs should be simply simple and of course very effective. Make use of writing skills that matches the context of your website. Don’t write like how truckers talk on corporate websites. At the same time, make the written communication informal, charismatic, attractive, and appealing. Both styles of writing have their place under the Sun, provided they are used when they are required to be used.
Don’t overdo anything on a website. Overly done web designs will only repel and not attract a user. Keep the communication and the web design as simple as possible. Too much of anything is bad. Too much text, too much graphics, and so on.
